You mean I don't have to use Google?
While our search engine of choice here at Northwood seems to be Google, you should be aware that there are lots of different search engines that offer different search results. It might be worth your time to try one of the search engines below the next time you are doing research.
DuckDuckGo: DuckDuckGo doesn't share your search queries or results with advertisers, so your info is more secure and private.
Bing: MicroSoft's answer to Google

Instagrok: Unlike traditional search engines, Instagrok returns its results in "groks" or concept maps that show how different results are related to each other. You can follow concept results into more and more specific directions.
TheCollegeSearchEngine: Results from searches here come exclusively from college web sites. That means results are likely to be different from those on Google and will have an educational bent.
Dogpile: This site functions much like Google, but also offers alternate search terms that might be helpful to you. It searches many of the same sites that Google and Yahoo do.
Yahoo: The second-largest search engine around. It's comprehensive and provides some search results that Google does not.
Blekko: Blekko seems to create differentiated results organized in categories. Rather than organizing your results in order of use, they are organized with other similar results.
Gigablast: Gigablast is the first green search engine, using wind power to energize its servers. It's results are categorized so that you can follow a particular set of results that matches your interest.
Answers: On this site, you can state your search topic in the form of a question, though you'll get more focused results if you use keywords instead. Results are returned as potential answers to questions.
